Broekman Logistics s.r.o gives thanks to all clients for the cooperation in 2011 and wishes many personal and business successes in running year.

From 2.1.2012 shipping lines implemented changes of payment process related to shipments from/to OFAC countries. What is OFAC? OFAC stands for Office of Foreign Assets Control and has applied restrictions from engaging in trade or providing services related to the embargoed countries, now including 5 countries - Sudan, Iran, Cuba, North Korea and Syria. The main implications follow:

- USD currency cannot be used for any transactions including payments received

. US banks cannot be involved regardless of the payment currency

We would like to let you know  at the end of 2011 we delivered another oversized cargo flying from U.S.A. for our client in CZ by that we strenghten our position for Carrier of  non-standard airfreight cargo.

From January 2011 new delivery terms INCOTERMS 2010 became effective replacing the old ones INCOTERMS 2000. There are only 11 terms, 9 remaining unchanged, 2 are new and 4 are cancelled (DDU, DAF, DES, DEQ).

EXW, FCA, CPT, CIP, DAT(DELIVERED AT TERMINAL), DAP (DELIVERED AT PLACE), DDP, FAS, FOB, CFR AND CIF - THESE IS AN OVERVIEW OF VALID NEW TERMS.

As we have already informed you about the  new rules for import cargo arriving to EU/ see below /we received notices from various shipping lines that the European Union Commission agreed monitoring period till 30.6.2011.

This regulation is strictly enforced for all cargo on boards of vessels calling the EU from 1 July 2011. Failure to comply will lead to  NO LOAD policy and potential penalties.

For all cargo entering the EU must be submitted an ENTRY SUMMARY DECLARATION to the first port of call in the EU at least 24 hrs prior loading on board. The following data are to be required in the shipping instructions: shipper/consignee, EORI number, description of the goods, container NO. and seal No., gross weight, HS code

The responsibility for presentation of correct information to respective carrier is lying on the Shipper resp. his expedituer. In case of non-availability of such data, the cargo will not be released by resp. customs house and will not be loaded.

USA – custom officers will change time for air cargo report

Analogously as in the maritime Cargo, airfreight goods must prepare that shipments destined for the U.S. will have to be reported to the U.S. duty more hours before the start of the aircraft. US Customs and border patrol is preparing first steps as they adviced  at the conference of air freight CNS in Phoenix, Arizona. Till now  shipments must be reported at least 4 hrs before aircraft arrival in US. It is therefore not possible to exclude suspicious shipments prior to departure. It was not strictly said what kind of restrictions would be prepared. Sea shipments must be reported no later than 24 hours before the container leaves the foreign port. Change in reporting rules responds to the customs administration revealed bomb attacks in packages in October last year. US-Customs begins first with 28 countries in the Middle East and North Africa together with integrators, UPS, FedEx and DHL. On these is based 74% of all air shipments, routed to the USA. The second step is to test a new procedure with selected forwarders. The target is to extend them to the world and is institute them. (source: SSL Express)
